Kittens, smiles and tears.
My heart tends to lead my head and when we picked up Holly-Rose from the Vet after her surgery last week, we fell for some little abandoned kittens. These gorgeous, innocent little kittens were dumped at our Vet’s door, unwanted. Needless to say my children and I fell in love. We walked away though, after all we just had a new puppy.
Besides my hubby was against the idea, but when I woke the next morning he smiled and said “you know I can’t say no to you”. YAY! We agreed to get one for April for her birthday.
Off to the Vet with three excited children in tow, and one super excited mummy, I felt like a child! April had the choice, after all it was for her birthday, even though it would be our family pet. We even took Holly-Rose to meet them. They got on great, and after some play time, April decided on a kitten, the female one.
She named her London. We had to leave her with the Vet as she had to be de-sexed and we left. In the car all we could think about was little Toby (our name we gave the boy). My eldest daughter loved Toby. And with my soft heart, and their father’s kind heart we agreed to get Toby too. After all how can we leave him behind. The Vet and staff were thrilled, as were we!
The surgery was on Sunday, so we spent half a day on Saturday at the Vet playing with our new kittens. We choose collars, name tags, a carrier, toys and a scratching post.
Sunday came and we got to pick up our new babies. There was big smiles, loads of hugs and pats. Walks in the dolls prams, pretend picnic. Lots of photos, and 3 very happy children.
London is the one on top, Toby at the bottom.
Here is our beautiful London
Sadly Monday afternoon London started going down hill, she vomited and then started to cry a lot and became very still. I rushed her to the vet, she stopped breathing just as we arrived. They tried to revive her, and got her heart started, but sadly she never regained conciousness.
There was a lot of tears last night and today. We didn’t have her long, but we had her long enough to gain a beautiful bond. And our heart breaks for Toby. My daughters birthday is on Friday and she now doesn’t have her kitten. April isn’t my emotional child, she doesn’t cry a lot. She was with me at the Vet and we said goodbye. The last two days is the most I have ever seen her cry. She is walking around lost. She wont let go of London’s collar or the tissue that she had when she said goodbye to London. She has said prayers and lit a candle.
London and April . . . a priceless bond
Toby and London. . . brother and sister
Good bye London, you are missed, but never forgotten. We are so happy we got to love you, and we promise to love and take care of Toby forever. Sweet dreams

Oh MG, I’m crying with you. I know just how this goes and I feel devistated. I love that this little kitten got to feel what true love, security and home meant, before she was taken from you. My heart breaks for you all. Love and blessings xxxx

This breaks my heart reading. You guys did such a wonderful, noble thing and such a selfless thing taking in those kittens.
I just can’t believe we live in a world where people can actually dump an animal and just simply walk away like it’s nothing at all.
I’m so very sorry to hear about London. London was surrounded by love and that’s all she knew in her short life with your family. Very precious. I hope your daughter will be okay… xox

Aww bless, what a beautiful little kitty. April can forever remember that she gave that poor kitty a loving home even if it was for such a short while. We lost our kitty last week – I’m going to need to work on the other half for another one. I can’t face replacing my moo cat yet though! Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday

Yes I was so sad when I read about you loving cat. The Vet was so lovely assuring April that her kitty London was lucky to have been so loved.
